Hotel Skagen Brygge is located in an area coloured by Stavanger’s position as the main city for Norway’s herring industry. There used to be a world-leading cannery were the hotel now stands. Hotel Skagen Brygge, first opened in 1988. It was designed by architects Kjell Lund and Nils Slaatto and has won several awards for its perfect adaptation into an old protected environment. It has become a part of modern-day Stavanger and is often used in photographs promoting the city.
