Clarion Collection Hotel Tollboden is a peaceful oasis in Strømsø in Drammen. The Hotel is located in the natural surroundings of the Drammen harbour. The building stems from the 17th century.
At Clarion Collection Hotel Tollboden you live with the unique culture and history of Drammen in the walls. This dignified building has roots back to the 1600’s when Strømsø was one of the most important ports in Norway. The hotels is decorated with art from local artists and exhibitions from the citys maritime history.
The hotel is centrally located in Strømsø with a varied selection of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. You will also find attractions such as Drammen museum, Spiraltoppen, and Bragernes Torg nearby.
The hotel was first erected by businessman and customs-man Daniel Knoff in 1668. Knoff started his carreer as a custums-officer and later became a customs inspector. He was one of the trusted advisors to the king and was given the nickname ”King of Strømsø” for his investment in developing the harbour area. Today, Knoff and his work lives on in the exhibitions in the hotel.
In the hotel relax-department you find a calm atmosphere with comfortable furniture, sauna, and gym equipment. The gym is open between 06.00 and 23.00. The relax-department also has a separate room for sociable relaxation where you will always find a refreshing drink.
Drammen has a living golf culture, and we proudly sponsor Drammen Golf Course, only 10 kilometres from the hotel. Here we have our own golf cup, and we offer a golf package including greenfee.
In the winter the area around drammen is perfect for both cross-country and alpine skiing. Only ten minutes from the hotel you find two ski lifts, Haukås and Aron. 30 minutes by car will tajke you to Kongsberg with challenges both for begunners and experienced.

Around the corner from the hotel there is a varied selection of attractions and restaurants. We can help arrange social activities or reserve tables at nearby restaurants. The hotel offers free parking for conference guests.
Dining Room
In the dining room you will find a calm and charming atmosphere isnpired the the hotel’s past as a customs house. The dining room is decorated with norwegian furniture and the walls are filled with art from local artists.
Start the day with our organic breakfast. Here you find coffee, teas, iced water, and fruits, all day. In the afternoon we offer home-made waffles and home-baked bread, and in the evening we serve a light meal.
