The lobby features several different guest installations over the course of a year, where established designers as well as new arrivals on the design scene work closely with the hotel’s own design team.
Nordic Light Hotel has welcomed many distinguished guests over the years, including top international names such as Patricia Urquiola and design companies such as Bisazza and Iittala. The Swedish design scene has enjoyed an explicit position at the hotel, with exhibitions by Monica Förster, Bea Szenfeld, design group Front and many others.
Lighting design
The lighting at Nordic Light Hotel is a meticulously designed combination of artificial and natural light. The atmospheric lighting experience is noticeable as soon as you step into the lobby and the experience continues into the hotel room itself, where guests can create their own lighting.
Nordic Light Hotel has been a member of Design Hotels from its very beginnings. The hotel’s designers Jan Söder and Lars Pihl were inspired by an element that is strongly associated with Scandinavia – light.
The Nordic light is known for its particular characteristics, the mystic northern lights, the dark winters and the midnight sun.
The shifting Nordic light is reflected in the hotel lobby in hundreds of light sources that vary in colour and intensity. In 2002, Nordic Light Hotel won the European Light Trophy in the indoor lighting category.
MOOD ROOMS
The Mood Rooms allow hotel guests to get involved in designing their own lighting. You can experiment with colour, rhythm and intensity with just a few simple touches of a button in the room’s light bed. Try refreshing green, soothing blue or invigorating red to create your own personal lighting and atmosphere.
LIGHT THERAPY
During the darker months, light therapy treatments are available in the hotel’s spa section. Choose an infrared treatment to improve blood circulation, or simulate daylight to give yourself an energy boost.

SNOOPY 60 YEARS
One of Nordic Light Hotel’s more unusual guests is Snoopy, or rather his alter ego Joe Cool, who moved in to the hotel in autumn 2010. Snoopy was given a personal suite, a specially designed floor, and he celebrated his 60th birthday with a major exhibition and charity auction in the lobby.
