Quality Straand Hotel & Resort lies in the small town of Vrådal, a tourism-town that offers experiences and activities all year. Situated in West-Telemark, Vrådal is easily accessible, whether you are travelling from Kristiansand, Stavanger, Oslo, or Vestfold and Grenland.
The hotel has 125 rooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, Albies well-being centre, conference department with room for up to 400 people, pool, terrance, and lounge with fireplace. Outside you will find activities like out horse-centre, the veteran boat MS Fram, and Straand Summerland.
The history of the hotel stretches all the way back to 1864, when kari and Olav Straahnd started a coaching inn here. Today, nearly 150 years later it is still the Straand family who owns and runs the hotel.
Central in the hotel are the old living rooms with warm timberwalls, antiquities and traditional furnishings. In these rooms there is a calm and comfortable atmosphere which invites for relaxation and serene moments whether you are alone or with others. Here you will find something for any taste.
Conference
Quality Straand Hotel & Resort has its own conference department with Vrådalssalen of ca. 660 square meters as the largest room. The venue can ble split and adapted to several smaller meeting rooms. The large venue means we can receive up to 400 attendees in one room. In addition we have several smaller rooms, and 18 rooms for small groups.
We know a good conference requires more than just planning. We have long experience with courses and conferences and can help with planning and execution of your event. The helpful and welcoming staff aim to solve problems that may arise before they become an issue, so that you can focus on your work.
We have adapted for all types of events to be executed with agility. With a driving port of 4.5 metres you can drive straight into the hall and easily rig for your needs.
We know that conferences can be demanding and have naturally taken this into account with our break area. Here we serve refreshments to give you a boost of energy for your work.
Restaurant
Our main restaurant is bright and spacious and can seat about 350 guests. here we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant was refurbished in 2006 and has a new buffet area.
We know the food often is the highlight of a hotel stay. It is always pleasant to go to a set table to enjoy a fine meal, no matter if you are here for a course or as a private traveller.
Our kitchen is known for its good food and our chefs are enthusiastic about giving a flavourful experience, all year. In the summer we have barbecues on our terrace.
The christmas parties are known far outside the deep forests of Telemark. Some even say that ”If you have not been at a christmas party here, you have never been to a christmas party!”.
The hotel became in 2009 a member of the recognised food partnership Gourmetruten. Six danish and two norwegian eateries are members.The focus is on great produce and high quality of food, in addition to all the places being situated in beautiful natural surroundings.
